Inclusion at Tropical Elementary
Our Inclusion program here at Tropical Elementary is one for all other schools to envy. Inclusion begins during the early years of Pre-K and continues through 5th grade. Children of all different exceptionalities are participating in classrooms with student in the general curriculum. Students vary from visually impaired, physically impaired, other health impaired, learning, and intellectually disabled. The Inclusion program here at Tropical gives ALL children the same opportunities and life experiences. These experiences involve learning, socializing, participating in school organized clubs, and field trips.
Tropical Elementary Special Education department provides special services for children with disabilities (physical, intellectual, or learning needs). Our program strives to maximize the potential of each student and to cultivate awareness and acceptance. We have a variety of placement options: consult services within the general education environment, insulin programs, resource room and separate classrooms. Each of these programs strives to meet each child's individual needs in the least restrictive setting.
