Tropical Elementary’s Before and After School Care Program is not only a place to teach children, but a learning center for the entire community because learning is life-long. By extending services beyond the traditional K-12 hours, we are improving student learning, building stronger families and promoting healthier communities.
The Before and After School Care Program is designed to be responsive to the educational, recreational, and social needs of our students, by providing a wide range of activities and services during the morning and afternoon hours.
During morning care, students are given breakfast and later taken to their classrooms upon school commencement time. During after school care hours, students are first given a snack. Leaders later assist students with their home learning assignments. Afterwards, each group follows a schedule of activities consisting of Computers, Arts & Crafts, Indoor Games, Outdoor Games, Story Time, and Movies on Fridays.
